About

mu.na.n.du is a sentence in Sumerian, the oldest known language. It means ‘he built’.

Our lives are like organic, ever-changing structures. Parts of it are constructed, torn down, reconstructed again, remodelled and perfected. Some of us believe that a Master Architect oversees all of this, others believe that we are alone in our efforts. Most agree, however, that it’s often difficult to see a design in the wonderfully bizarre stuctures we form.

Some get lost exploring their inner labyrinth and are driven to madness and desperation. Others aimlessly wander through the corridors, pleasantly surprised by a new insight, or a new experience. But to a degree, we all try to understand ourselves.

We are Jerome, Chris and Jack. I’m Hilko, a student in Amsterdam. As time passes, we will share our life, our opinions, our thoughts and our adventures with you. It might not all be strictly factual, but it’s all true.

(Things written using ‘real’ names are fact, however)

Cast of Character

Hi, I’m Chris, and I’m an atheist. With that out of the way, let me tell you about me as a person. I’m a chainsmoker, heavy drinker, very honest, and interested in the natural sciences. Some people call me arrogant, but that’s only because I’m right, and they’re wrong. The closest thing to a ‘religious experience’ for me is a walk through nature, a good book, or particular works of art.

I’m Jack, and I like people. Love them! There is no such thing as an ‘uninteresting’ person; sometimes it just takes time before their beauty shows. I study psychology, and I guess the social sciences interest me most. People call me a hippie sometimes. Like a good student, I love hitchhiking and traveling; it’s cheap, and you get to meet wonderful people. Come visit me at a Rainbow Gathering sometime!

Well, my name is Jerome. I briefly studied Theology, but then decided it wasn’t for me. I’m a Christian, and in addition to Theology I have a lot of interest in apologetics (defending Christianity),and religion in general. I’m structured, ordered and efficient. Obsessively so, according to some. I just believe it’s important to stay focused.
